A couple of waiata written for and by Kiwikiwi whanau includes a 2009 waiata by Huia Armstrong and Troy Kingi, aptly named, Te Whanau Kiwikiwi. A second waiata of relevance is by Piripi Cope, of our Cope line, called Ngā Puawai Ō Ngāpuhi.
‘Te Whanau Kiwikiwi’ tells the story of Remana and Arihi and includes a brief pepeha. This waiata is also about how they both loved gardening and fed many whanau from their garden. Watch this space for an audio or video – coming soon!
Ngā Puawai Ō Ngāpuhi composed by Piripi Cope was written for Ngapuhi when they served as custodians for the Te Māori exhibition in New York.
