Mereana (Marianne)

Mereana was born 1900 and married Ted Stokes in 1920. They lived in Pakaraka for most of their lives. Mereana died on 6 June, aged 65 and is buried at Pakaraka Trinity Church.

Ted Stokes was a Gallipoli war veteran, one of the thirty survivors. He fought in France.

Mereana and Ted had nine children.

Waiata
A couple of waiata written for and by Kiwikiwi whanau includes a 2009 waiata by Huia Armstrong and Troy Kingi, aptly named, Te Whanau Kiwikiwi. A second waiata of relevance is by Piripi Cope, of our Cope line, called Ngā Puawai Ō Ngāpuhi.
