Paora is the first son and third child born to Alice and Remana. He attended Ohaewai Primary School and secondary years at Te Aute High School. Paora also spoke fluent Māori.
Paora married Abbey Leef in 1905 and together they had four children.

- Heeni married Ponaiti Te Ahuahu Mangu Tana, no records of children currently available
- Harry (Hare) married Ivy Cross and they had one son, Lloyd Lemon
- Titihuia (Sadie) married Jerry Graham and no records of children currently available

Paora was widowed and married again to Kiriwai Waerea of Ngati Kahungungu descent. This is said to be an arranged marriage bringing two Iwi together.
Paora and Kiriwai had ten children, two of the children died in infancy. They also raised two moko: Trevor Kelly (Molly’s son) and Barry Lemon (Ruanui’s son).
CHILDREN OF PAORA & KIRIWAI
- Hone married Betty Trotter, they had no children but raised Ruanui’s child William and adopted Moira.
- Molly married Alan Kelly and they had two children. With Molly’s second marriage to Jack Hall she had 8 children.
- Dolly married Ross Wallace, they had no children but raised Phillipa, Ruanui’s daughter from a young age
- Ruanui married Margaret Bowlin and they had 5 children
- George married Anne Raukawa, no records of children currently available
- Kiwikiwi married Emily Mitchell and together they had 8 children. Kiwikiwi also has one son previous to marriage with Emily.
- Alice married John Cavanagh and together they had 10 children.
- Aydon married Dorothy (Ann) Currie and together they had 3 children. Aydon also has another daughter from a previous marriage.
